The Emergency Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – “112” presented three new projects based on modern technologies: “Mobile Application”, “eCall Georgia” and “Program for Patrol Crews”.

The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the heads of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of the Tbilisi Municipality, non-governmental organizations and the diplomatic corps.

“We live in an era where progress is unimaginable without the introduction and development of modern technology. Thus, in order to ensure maximum public safety, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is focused on technological development. We are constantly learning about the latest trends and best practices in the development of policing in the world, we process them and adapt them to our challenges, to the tasks we face.

The activities of “112” mainly depend on technologies. Thus, the main priority of the center is projects based on modern technologies. “These projects make the 112 service much more mobile and become even more focused on the interests and requirements of the customers,” said Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs.

The guests invited to the presentation received detailed information about the functions of the new projects of “112”.

From November of this year, “112” will launch a mobile application throughout Georgia, which will allow you to establish a connection between the citizen and the emergency number operator in the shortest possible time and immediately determine the location. The mobile application has been introduced in 13 countries of the world and from now on it will be available for Georgian citizens as well. The app is free, trilingual and comes with support for iOS and Android platforms.

The Emergency Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is also introducing an EU-initiated pilot project – eCall Georgia, which in case of a car accident, sends an automatic alarm to the emergency number via a pre-built in-vehicle system (IVS). With location indication.

The third new project of “112” was created for the purpose of visual exchange of information, especially for patrol crews. The program recorded in the laptops of the patrol crews provides detailed and instant information to the crew about the emergency notification entered in “112”. A similar program will be introduced for ambulance crews in the near future.

New projects of Western standards, built on modern technologies, will further improve the service of “112”, significantly reduce the response time to emergencies and significantly increase the quality of security of citizens.

It is also planned to open an alternative emergency management center in the city of Rustavi in the near future. “New Generation 112” was created taking into account the recommendations of the best emergency care centers in the world. Together with the center of Tbilisi, Rustavi “112” will operate in parallel and will receive calls throughout Georgia, 24 hours a day.
