About 100 students of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics of the Georgian Technical University were involved in the testing of the mobile application of the LEPL “112” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Within the framework of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Action Plan for 2016-2017 of the International Initiative, MIA LEPL “112” has introduced an alternative channel of communication – a mobile application, which aims to access 112 using innovative technologies. Increase and receive emergency care in the shortest possible time.

The main advantage of the 112 mobile application is the immediate location of the citizen, which will significantly reduce the number of emergency services arriving at the scene. The application is free. It has support for iOS and Android platforms and is available in Georgian, English and Russian. It should be noted that the connection to the emergency center with a mobile application has been introduced only in 13 countries of the world.

From 2017, every citizen in Georgia will have the opportunity to download and use the “112” mobile application.
