On November 18-19, 2014, a Finnish expert, Aapo Koski, visited the Emergency Management Center-112. The visit was part of a project to connect 112 via text message and video call to persons with disabilities.
The two-day training was attended by 112 IT staff. The parties discussed the software issues required for the implementation of SMS messaging.
At the meeting, the parties shared their experiences, as well as reviewed various procedural issues that are important for the successful implementation of the project.
In the near future, it will introduce an alternative channel of connection to the center for 112 people with disabilities. This includes connecting to 112 via text message and video calling.
The above project is implemented by the Emergency Management Center -112 in cooperation with UNDP Georgia.
