With the aim of strengthening road safety, from December 21, 2020, 19 speed control sections started operating at 19 locations in Adjara, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Tbilisi.

  1. From the intersection of Lekh and Maria Kachinski and Zgvis Piri streets, Batumi to the intersection of Lekh and Maria Kachinski and Sherif Khimshiashvili streets, Batumi. Allowed speed 60km/h.
  2. From the intersection of Lekh and Maria Kachinski and Sherif Khimshiashvili streets, Batumi to the intersection of Lekh and Maria Kachinski and Zgvis Piri streets, Batumi. Allowed speed 60km/h.
  3. From the intersection of Baku and Shavsheti streets,Batumi, to the intersection of Tamar Mepe and Tbeti streets, Batumi. Allowed speed 60km/h.
  4. From 32nd kilometer of Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe highway (towards Gurjaani to 35th kilometer of Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe highway (village Tsinandali, towards Gurjaani). Allowed speed 60km/h.
  5. From 35th kilometer of Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe highway (village Tsinandali, towards Telavi) to 332nd kilometer of Akhmeta-Telavi-Bakurtsikhe highway (towards Telavi). Allowed speed 60km/h.

As a result, a total of 1152 km of road throughout Georgia will be controlled by a sectional speed control system.
