By the order of the Minister of Interior, Vakhtang Gomelauri, all call-takers were awarded the Certificates of Appreciation to mark the Day of 112. Deputy Minister of Interior – Giorgi Butkhuzi visited Public Safety Command Center 112 and expressed gratitude towards 112 staff for their devotion during the pandemic. Mr. Butkhuzi awarded them with the Certificates of Appreciation for the exemplary and efficient performance of duties.

Moreover, the Head of Rustavi PSAP was awarded with the medal for “Special Merit”.

During the pandemic, 112 acquired a significant responsibility: Every citizen can address 112 is case they test positive for COVID.

In 2020 112 call-takers handled up to 7 million calls. To ensure smooth connection and efficient management of emergency calls, number of call-takers within 112 increased by 115%.

In 2009, European Council, European Parliament and Council of Europe announced February 11 as Day of 112. Georgia, among over 80 countries worldwide, marks this day annually.
