A public event was held in the central square of Rustavi within the framework of the information and awareness campaign of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – “Befriend the Police”.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, the heads of various departments, the State Representative of Kvemo Kartli and the Mayor of Rustavi.

All the guests who came to the event had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Public Safety Command Center “112”, the Service Agency, the Emergency Management Service, the Patrol Police, the Border Police, the Forensic-Criminalistics Department, the Security Police and the Special Tasks Department and to see their special equipment as well.
Adolescents and children participated in various cognitive and entertainment activities together with the employees of the Ministry.
It should be noted that, parallel to the public events, a project has already been launched within the framework of which the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, namely the Patrol Police Department, the Human Rights Protection and Investigation Quality Monitoring Department, the Emergency Management Service, the Service Agency and the Public Safety Command Center “112” representatives conduct meetings in schools. The purpose of the meetings is to raise awareness among children and adolescents about public safety and public order.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs provide students with relevant and necessary information about public order during the meetings.
As part of the “Befriend the Police” campaign, public events and meetings have already been held in Batumi and Zugdidi schools.
