The delegation of the beneficiary countries of the project – “Strengthening the network of International Law Enforcement Coordination Units (ILECUs) in South-Eastern Europe and Eastern Partnership countries” Organized by the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The delegation included representatives of International Law Enforcement Cooperation Centers (ILECUs) from Hungary, Romania, Moldova, North Macedonia and Serbia.

Within the scope of the study visit, during one week, the delegation held introductory meetings with the representatives of the Central Criminal Police Department, Expert – Forensic, International Relations and Migration Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Public Security Management Center “112” and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the spot, the guests got acquainted with the specifics of the work of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Within the framework of the visit, there was also held a one-day seminar on communication and capacity development of international law enforcement coordination units.

The mentioned project – “Strengthening the network of International Law Enforcement Coordination Units (ILECUs) in South-Eastern Europe and Eastern Partnership countries” – is financed by the European Union and is being implemented in 2021 in close cooperation with the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Its purpose is to strengthen International Coordination Law Enforcement Units (ILECUs) in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership region and sustainable development of regional cooperation in the fight against transnational crime.
