The Delegation of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) paid a visit to the emergency response center. The members of delegation held a meeting with the Director of LEPL “112” Giorgi Bichashvili. The delegation visited “112” call-center and got acquainted with the current work specifications. The representatives of the emergency call center introduced the future goals of “112” and received advices from the members of delegation.
Within the frame of the visit the delegation held an official meeting with the Head of the Emergency Management Department. Guests have positively assessed achievements of the Ministry and expressed their willingness for further cooperation with the Georgian side.
ICDO delegation arrived in Georgia three days ago under the leadership of Secretary-General Nawaf Al-Sleibi. Within the frame of the visit the delegation visited Rustavi Service Agency of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Georgia as well. Meeting of delegation with Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Irakli Gharibashvili is also scheduled. Parties will discuss issues related to the cooperation between Georgia and ICDO and the development of the civil defense system in Georgia.
The aim of the ICDO is to facilitate creation of civil defense sub-units and their equipment, develop strategic cooperation between states together with different international and national organizations, and enable humanitarian aid in different countries for the people damaged by disasters. Georgia became member of ICDO in 1995.
