Within the frames of the grand celebration of 100th anniversary of Georgian independence, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia hosted citizens in Zugdidi.
Emergency Response Center – 112 under Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia presented projects for kids as well as modern technology oriented projects.
112 was represented with the “Spaceship”, which is the exact replica of the 112 Tbilisi call center. Upon entering the Spaceship, kids were able to play computer games designed specially for them. Winners became the Members of the Spaceship and were awarded special passes. With the use of modern technologies, kids were informed about the emergency number, when to dial 112 and how to act during the emergencies.
Kids were also made familiar with the presentation about the single emergency number and were awarded certificates.
Within the frames of the event, Emergency Response Center 112 presented mobile application, which enables the location determination. Each guest was made familiar with the features of the application. Representatives of 112 provided detailed information about using the application during the emergencies.
Citizens that displayed civic consciousness, made calls to 112 from Samegrelo region and saved the lives of their fellow citizens when every second was decisive, were awarded during the grand celebration event. Director of 112 – Nika Gelashvili granted awards of “Outstanding Citizen” to three persons from Samegrelo region.
